The Harbor Bus takes you through the Overseas Harbors, the impressive container terminal and to Europe's largest automobile hub with the interesting "High & Heavy" area in the northern reaches of the city. Security concerns once kept visitors out of these fascinating areas, which have once again been opened to give the public an up-close look.
Bus tour "Tour de wind"

You will be visiting the offshore wind power test station in the north of Bremerhaven rising up to 190 meters in the air. The three-legged steel construction, which anchors the wind power stations to the seabed, can be seen full size on land: a 500-ton heavy and 30 meters high tripod foundation. On the guided „Tour de Wind“ round tour, which leads you along 20 stations, you will learn a lot about wind energy, the future climate protecting power generation.

Your cruise destination is the city harbor in the middle of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen. While you take in views of dikes, ports, ships and giant-size operations, you'll hear riveting stories and impressive statistics about the harbor. Once a month tours are offered of the Industriehafen, which is normally closed to the public. On board you'll learn informative and entertaining details about cargo handling, locks and port history plus today's activities and tomorrow's prospects for Germany's southernmost seaport.

On a harbor cruise through all seven overseas ports, you'll get a close look at harbor life and its imposing ships, enormous automobile-handling areas, docks and berths. Gigantic refrigerated warehouses, packing centers and fish processing plants await you on a tour through the Fishery Harbor. Your tour guide will entertain you with a wealth of facts and figures about the Bremerhaven ports.
River cruise to the Container-Terminal

Enjoy a two hour cruise on board the two-deck motor ship MS "Geestemünde". The cruise takes you through the lock of the New Harbor, passes by the new Kaiserschleuse and along the longest river quay in the world at the container-terminal and finally reaches the wadden sea. Depending on the weather a stop at the seal banks may be done. On the return journey you may take a look of the Weser islands Langlütjen 1 and 2 from the reling.

The Schaufenster Bootsbau gives you a look at the rich traditions surrounding shipbuilding. Each step in the process of building a wooden ship is explained on plaques posted along the way. Exhibits constructed with attention to detail show you how demanding this craft is. You can get close to shipbuilding at the shipbuilding site and children can try it themselves in the Kinderwerft, where they build their own boats and see if they float.

Shipbuilding fascination – the platform on the fourth floor of the Visitors' Center at Lloyd Werft/Overseas Harbors is open for exclusive tours. An interesting live presentation and 360° tour give you a breathtaking look at the ins and outs of the harbor and make the rough and tumble life of a shipyard come alive. (For groups only.)
